Drawing before I could walk, it was not hard to imagine I would choose a career
in art.. I remember long hours. spent at grocery .stores and 7/11s .sitting in front
of the comic racks sifting through Heavy Metal and Mad Magazine, Spider-man
and Batman. The four color images warped my young mind and made me visu-
alize. the vast. potential of the medium.. Where else could an individual .(or a
small team of people). create completely realized,. fleshed-out narratives. and
fantasies full of characters that lived and breathed in the imagination the way
the actors in a movie or .the words in a novel did.. You could control a reader's
imagination,. make them see the marvels of. your own mind and make people
think. about the very concepts and themes. that were important. to you all in a
small, disposable, affordable package.. I was hooked.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
